Western Australia is to legalize prostitution in order to improve health standards and ensure brothels in residential areas.
Hundreds of suburban houses are expected to close when WA Attorney-General Christian Porter ends decades of "blind eye" and begins to regulate the sex industry next year.
Prostitution is illegal in WA, but police rarely bring charges if they are related to juvenile sex or unsafe practices.
Under the new legislation, brothels will be permitted and limited to areas designated commercial and industrial, and police will be empowered to investigate and close to force those who do not respect.
Sex businesses will need to monitor the health and safety to obtain and retain their licenses.
Difficult to define prostitution.
Many women date rich men for their money. In my opinion, they are also prostitutes. Minors and unprotected sex are more common in these situations.
