Has anyone Bibles, dictionaries, Webster or history books, they would be willing to part with? I am looking for any old Bibles, old Webster dictionaries and books of ancient history. I need this for my studies. Thanks to modern editors to change the original wording, adding or deleting certain texts, old books are still the only reliable sources. If someone can give me that they are greatly appreciated, due to difficult economic times, I'm not in much position to purchase. Thank you in advance.
I am inclined to believe you as well.
If you need history books to your studies you have specified what type. Antique? American? European? Medieval?
As for the dictionaries and Bibles - you do not specify what age you want them. Ebay is a wonderful place to get very cheap old books.
I would venture to say that the early dictionaries are very unreliable. If you are looking for modern reliability is a better choice when it comes to language - the language is constantly evolving, so a definition of 200 years will be very unclear in many cases.
nonsense.
I doubt your claims and assume that you are simply scam people in a forum that has questions, no money for charity. old bibles and quality old dictionaries are an equivalent amount, then either use the library or pay for them.
Not only do most versions of Bibles still readily available in libraries, many are still in print because unlike the new versions, they do not require payment of royalties. In addition, many sects have hooked to specific versions as the single version and continue to finance their publication.
Dictionaries are also widely available, they are also valuable. Once again if you search valid, you can easily see many different versions in any library. fewer are available in most college libraries.
The history books, well yes, they change, then again so that our knowledge of history. I check the library for many do not update their history sections. Old books are valuable and once again I request your pleas.
I do, but not ready to give. It was my grandfathers bible. It is the old King James Version. It is the closest to the old version of the Bible, you can get.
