Can you give me some advice on what I have to go to college? I am a 19 year old man originally from Cleveland, OH, USA. The question that matters, but I'm giving a glimpse of my life for the best possible answer. My highest grade completed was 8th grade. I was in grade 9 three times. I failed the first two times because I have never attended school and eventually dropped the third year because I did not finish high school at age 20. I have my GED (General Educational Development). I enrolled in college as soon as possible.
So, my greatest passion in life is simply the universe. I would like to become an astronomer or an astrophysicist. The biggest problem is that I do not meet the requirements for a course in physics which I would like to start. As I said, I dropped to 9 years, so I have never had to take all classes in advanced mathematics or science. Throughout my years of school together, I excelled in math and science. Growing old who left school for so long, I feel that I can not do math anymore. I think for a second when asked simple problems, etc. I think it would take some time to get back where I was when I was younger. I smoked a lot of marijuana, in part a reason I have never attended school, but I also think it has destroyed my memory, so I think it will take me a long time to back to where I was. I want to do something very practical and relevant to the universe. I want to make some amazing discoveries and breakthroughs. I want my name in history as a great scientist. I do not want to leave this world behind to remember shortly after.
Which course should I start to drive on the road to becoming an astronomer or an astrophysicist? Will I still be able to do this despite my lack of education? Since I really want to do something about the hands, is Astronomy / Astrophysics zone right to be looking? I read that "employment in the field is quite varied, with most of the astronomers who work in academia, on astronomy. If I miss any of these options, what courses should I start with ? Remember, I do not meet the requirements for taking physics. What are the main course should I take to be able to take physics, if physics is my best bet.
The other thing I look at something in the field of computing. IT, Graphic Design, Web development, programming, etc. The reason is my second choice is becausing Computers are my second passion. I am very fast with them and learn new things with them even faster. I have an interview tomorrow for the design of a guy (we'll call him Bob). Assume that none of its employees began less than $ 30/hr, it provides housing free of rent and each employee receives a laptop. Seems just as good to be true. I did the graphic design (or at least play with it) since I was about 12 when I received my first pirated version of Adobe Photoshop 7.0. Bob needs someone to make coupon magazines for him. I've never done anything that is actually printed or anything. I have basic web sites for me, friends and I had a real job for someone who was a graphic GetAFreelancer.com. I know everyone says that I am good with graphics, but I do not think so. I do not think creativity is necessary for any type of art. So Bob is explaining what seems simple enough and it seems I am working with a team of designers to make the whole magazine layout and everything. I'm worried because I really do not know what it's like I heard before and I told him that he offered me a training really interested in the job, but now it seems as if it was waiting to be well rounded with this exact artwork. This job interview scares me still.
