New Castle County Deeds

New Castle County DeedsDover, Delaware's state capital and Victrolas

Dover is the capital of Delaware. Delaware seems to be the poor relation of the thirteen colonies red head home. For fifty-nine years I knew only three facts about Delaware. 1. It is the first state to ratify the Constitution. 2. It is a haven of peace to build a business. 3. The song: "Let the boys Delaware?" Today, I wanted to increase my pathetic body of knowledge. You never know what Alex Trebec asked.

Our reader has passed Dover Air Force Base, the arrogance of the armed forces. When one of our soldiers dying overseas, the first step back to the United States is at Dover Air Force Base. The base is closed to travel due to the awareness that we live.

We found the Welcome Center in Dover, and highlighted the main attractions. First, we toured the original State House, which served as the legislative judiciary (county, state and federal), and county offices until the 1900s. When everyone was in session, the place was like a zoo, people who enter and exit the main door, is to appear in court or go to see the legislative process. The county had a special office called the alias levitor peace in all places other than the magistrate, whose task was to keep the acts of the estate and file wills, raise taxes, etc. All the world, including the two other counties in Delaware court clerks or judges who do the same work.

The colony was founded by the Dutch in 1609, settled by the Swedes in 1638, then fell under British rule in 1664. The State has the only known perfect arc for a boundary at the north end. This was to keep the influence of William Penn in Philadelphia at least twelve miles from the colonial capital of New Castle. Therefore, the arc appears on the cards. William Penn got his way, however. He did not travel across the Delaware River through the territories allegedly opposed to the scope of its application in Philadelphia. He returned to Great Britain and the Crown had to give him the land bordering the Delaware River. Thus, the colony of Delaware fell under the sway of the Penn family. To be a pacifist, he was a tyrant baby cry. I did not know that side of him. Delaware finally got their come-uppence. When the time came the Declaration of Independence, they wrote: "We declare free from the British Crown and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania." Nobody cared, because the colonies were preparing for war.

William Penn laid out plans for the town of Dover with a green village opposite the building of the State. The city is very picturesque. Something strange is how they park their cars diagonally. The bands are forced to return to space. It actually does make sense, since the driver did not go back into circulation, but rather draws on the issue.

Another sight not to be missed, at Dover, the Victrola Museum. Eldridge Johnson, the inventor, was born in Dover. He was a machinist and had invented the winding engine. Everyone knows that Thomas Edison invented the talking machine, really the voice recorder, which recorded the voice on wax tubes. Berliner improved this concept by inventing the phonograph, which used flat disks rather than tubes. His invention had to be hand-cranked cameras like the first. A friend of Johnson asked if he could tie his engine for the gramophone. After several attempts, he succeeded. The phonograph as we know it today was invented and Johnson became a wealthy man. He called the name of his company Victor, because he liked the name. Finally, he sold it to RCA.
