I will go to Mudanjiang, China in October and I'm not sure what all I need to leave the United States and go to China. I know that I need a passport, but I do not know if there are other things I'll have to travel to China. I will stay there for 20 days. Any information would be appreciated

Yes, you need a passport for

....

You need a visa, what can be done online or by visiting the embassy.

If this is done by mail:

For a tourist visa for China, Chinese Embassy and Consulates require the following:

* A valid passport with 6 (tourist / business) and 12 (work / student) months remaining validity;
* At least one blank visa page;
* A recent passport photograph (black & white or color);
* Visa Application Form of China;
* Payment (cash, money order or check only - $ 130);
* A self-addressed envelope with prepaid return postage (FedEx, UPS, Express Mail is preferred);
* Proof of your airline tickets round trip and hotel reservations;
* A cover page that indicates the contents of the envelope, your telephone number and your request.
