Last Will And Testament Document

Last Will And Testament DocumentIs the New Testament historically reliable? (Part 2 of the East "series)

A preliminary study of Christian apologetics reveals that the claims of Christianity were presented by the first apostles / messengers verifiable, objective truth. While most other world religions / cults avoid empirical surveys and historical Christianity is based on real events that took place (I Cor. 15:17). In fact, Dr. Steven Collins going to emphasize "Christianity may be the belief system in the world based on the validity of the reality of certain events." This is one of the main reasons (with claim of exclusive Christian truth - or even truth in general), such as Christianity is regularly the target of derision. The principle that Christianity is "true" is based on the acceptance of "truth "according to the correspondence" view - which means that the truth is that which corresponds to reality. The opposing concepts of truth being determined by "what is existentially relevant" or "he who works" (pragmatic point of view), or the truth that whoever "feels good." These views of the truth it can be demonstrated not only doomed to failure, but virtually absent in our daily lives, activities and systems. Therefore, individuals are often torn between their worldviews and professed the daily life they live. Norman Geisler points out that if the pragmatic ("what works") for the truth have been applied to our everyday culture, our entire judicial system would be thrown into disarray as witnesses in court are not asked to "swear to tell" what works for you "," all of what works for you, "and" nothing else but what works for you (For a detailed discussion on this subject and a refutation of Kant's agnosticism Immanuel, see Norman Geisler chapter in Why I am a Christian entitled "Why I think the truth is real and knowable," pp. 30-45)

We saw in the previous article how it is real empirical data (what is called general revelation Romans 1:20, 2:14-15) reveals that there is a sort of "god" who " creates "(cosmological argument)," Designs "(teleological), and that this creation is proof of the existence of at least a general" moral "(moral argument) and the sense (religious needs / Joy). Although some people who we are witnesses or evidence to learn more about the Christian faith will not need this kind of "systematic" approach, the classical apologist "said premises above and ideas in order to have a grounding for presentation of certain evidence relating specifically to Christianity. Geisler expresses the classical approach this way:

"The basic argument is that classical apologists it makes no sense to speak of the resurrection as an act of God unless as a condition of logic, it is first established that there is a God who can act. Similarly, the Bible can not be the Word of God, unless there is a God who speaks. And Christ can not be proved that the Son of God, except on the principle that there is a logically prior God may have a Son "(Geisler, CEA)

Thus, in the progression of the "classical" Christian apologetics, we pass successively to questions about Christianity in particular. The question arises: Is this "God" which is highlighted through general revelation ever in the history of space-time, was revealed to us inany kind of objectively verifiable? (Do not refer to mere "feelings" - or even simple personal "mystical experiences" While these may be considered "evidence" for a Christian vision of God). The Christian answers "yes", which means that the true God has revealed through a real, historically verifiable person known by the name "Jesus", which is "Christ." "T.
