I Want To Be Successful

Posted on July 8, 2010.
I Want To Be SuccessfulI do not want to be in a sport, but it will help get into university?

I heard that the College accepts candidates who have been or are allocated in clubs and sports, right now Im gonna be a freshman, and I took French, and a club volunteer Imin called Key Club, and we hope that ill join later, but I do not want to be in a sport, perhaps tcross country, but my moms not so happy with it, because I have to take care of my little brother after school, both because of my work pareants my moms schedule changes, so that even the club key is risky, i hate his work, but we need it anyway if all thrrough to high school I DONT take a sport, but I take all the clubs and then I get to say as an ivy school, UCLA. etc., all a really good school??? Sports isn't for me

And one more important thing, what do I need to get into more clubs, I used to play an instrument and I know I prbbly imma have to work hard on grades, the GPA and all, im just scared I'm going to miss a class for college check each year of high school heart, theres allocate pressure on me, am not a bad student, I do my job, but im not geenius, my parents did not support all they are really rude and middle always bringin me down, but they ant the best for me, but I want to prove that I can make it big one day, I want my brother raise bby eyes towards me, I want realtives start watching our family, I want to be successful in life and prove to everyone around that a girl like me can do it, but I do not know eher first, if I need help, any class that would go into college, I heard vunteering hospital is great. BTW IM Gonna Get PRBBLY IN HEALTH CARE, how can you volunteer at the hospital through your school, help???

anything would help, I know it's so much to read, but help me to assign. :)

Hello, I'm UCLA alum and my child attends a top Ivy and I am very familiar with this.

For the record, it should absolutely not be in a sport if it is not your thing. My daughter does not participate in sports, and does not play an instrument. Select a few activities that interest you, and to those ... as much as you can without compromising your notes, but does not allow activities to be your top priority, because grades matter more. If you can have a leadership role in an activity, a large.

Volunteer work is highly respected and many hospitals have volunteer programs teen if you are interested in this field. Some have specific programs and summer - but you can do throughout the year (Saturday morning, for example). Otherwise, look at the volunteering options to other nonprofit organizations in your area, and, if possible (if not essential), choose something related to what you want to go to university. Your parents must remember that your activities are important both to enter into a good college, so they can consider a babysitter emergency, if your meetings in conflict with the work schedule of your mother. Your success is a team effort.

The conventional wisdom several years ago that colleges wanted children who were "well balanced" - ie tons of activities of all kinds. Many counselors hs grew up hearing that and think it still applies, but this is simply not true more. Admissions officers know that people are different, with varying strengths and interests. Be who you are - do what is important to you, stay focused on your academics, and you'll be a very serious candidate.

You do not have to be a genius to get good grades - just be sure to focus on your studies, what matters additional credit if offered, and academics make your priority. Yes, colleges consider all four years of HS, but keep in mind that your junior and senior year grades are better predictors of your ability to succeed in college ... do not stress if you are not entitled In al.
