How do you negotiate salary after getting the letter of offer of employment? I always had jobs where they just tell you how much they will pay, you can either take it or leave it. Now that I'm in a situation where I was offered through an official letter .. I am not happy with the wages they offer .. How do I negotiate this with them and is it still possible? How much more than what they offer can I ask? Is there some sort of standard? How do I apply for more money? Just call them?
Everyone approaches this process differently, so follow the tips that work best for you. For more information, advice and assistance http://moreaboutsalary.blogspot.com/
You could talk to the author of the letter of your concerns. But care is needed, is one against a refusal of an offer.
Question - Did you give them an indication of what salary range you are looking for while interviewing?
Did you know that the range before the interview?
If you say yes to the question above and the offer was made in the range, then you do not have much room to negotiate. (Which is odd - usually, they give you a broad and ask if it works for you before you ask or they ask your scope and see if it works for them before they do the interview) If Wages do not come, then you can contact the person who made the offer to let them know that this is not in the range you are looking for. Give them the range you require or give them your number down.
Another approach would be for them to increase your salary and reduce your% bonus, or vice versa. All the best.
