Employment Contract Law

Posted on June 24, 2010.
Employment Contract LawDoes anyone know the law of contract?

The company where I work has recently been acquired by another company. I already had a contract with my company, however, since the company was sold, they asked me to sign another contract. Is it my old contract remains in force, or do I sign again?? I ask because I am not happy with the terms of my new contract and I hope there is a way out!

Under TUPE, your contract with the new company may not be on terms less favorable than the former. Contact ACAS (www.acas.gov.uk) assistance.

If the purchase was made under the Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) or TUPE then the new employer should take you under your existing contract. You must also have been consulted about the transfer. Check with ACAS, or see if a local employment attorney offers a clinic for free advice if you're not satisfied with your new contract.

because they ask you to sign a new contract says they will not respect the elders in the purchase of the company, they probably did not
it was convenient to honor the previous agreements that could have been a part of the negotiation puchase
I doubt that you can not sign it and keep your job
