Setting up a company that should I know about recruiting staff from abroad on a casual basis? I am setting up a company and can not take any personnel on a permanent basis yet. Part of the work that I can provide will only be for one or two days a week. What should I do about taxes. So what should I know about the employment of foreign workers from Romania.
Make sure they have valid work permit, etc.
Why not employ local workers who need jobs, rather than exploiting foreign workers to pay less than the min wage
essential things to know:
1. You have to make their PAYE, even if they are casual
2. Make sure to get your hands on a good contract for services, or you may encounter Claims Tribunal Employment
3. Collect copies of documents proving their right to work, and ensure their inclusion in the registration system for workers if necessary.
The two key sites for you to look at are:
- http://www.hmrc.gov.uk and
- http://www.employingmigrantworkers.org.u ...
... And the poster above - you're an idiot. Because of the quota system of migrant much fruit grown by UK farmers this year simply rotted in the fields. Migrant workers do jobs the British simply do not want to do, or are not willing to do so because they are in better paying jobs already. We have a problem of under-employment in Great Britain.
Also, I am sure that like half a law abiding citizen will pay the minimum wage!
When I was considering taking the step of recruiting staff, I found my tax office has been invaluable, they are available at the end of a phone with all the legislation you need. They are also a range of introductory brochures on taking on staff. The commitment of staff is a minefield in any case, I am sure that the addition of foreign workers in the equation will complicate things even further. Why not employ people from your own country? Unless you need people of Romanian language, or you are an unscrupulous employer in an attempt to exploit and underpay, it is certainly preferable to offer employment to your own people first? If you're hoping to provide jobs for humanitarian reasons, namely trying to help those in poverty, there are people living in poverty around the world, including by the so-super power, it Just open your eyes and you will find them.
Soap box now in place, I wish you good luck in the next stage of your company and all the best of luck and prosperity!
I recently created a small business and tried to employ staff in this country. I used two British insisted on being paid in cash on hand and spent most queers working days smoking and drinking tea. No work has been completed.
I then used two foreign workers were paid in excess of the mininum wage and were not exploited and that employees are the best and hardest working.
This is why many people do not employ people in this country because they are lazy and you want to get paid for nothing.
