What branch of law does fall under confidentiality agreement? I am currently looking for a lawyer to draft a non-disclosure confidentiality agreement / to get an idea of mine, but I'm not sure what type of lawyer I need to find. There are so many specialties
(Criminal, traffic, litigation, estate planning, etc. ..), I'm not sure category to look under. Please let me know in which category / this branch of law concerned, to help me refine my search for a good lawyer. Thank you ...
It depends. If it is an original idea, product or service, it may be better to hire a lawyer specializing in intellectual property.
If this idea is not really new, but something you want to protect its business partners or employees, you should consult a business lawyer in particular who specializes in non-disclosure/confidentiality agreements. The lawyer can also advise you to include in the agreement of non-disclosure non-compete clause in the liquidation of the damages clause in case someone does try to use your idea without your permission.
I think you need a business lawyer
I think a confidentiality agreement is a civil contract between employer and employee. It should be covered by civil law.
I think Dom is right, but I think that almost any lawyer worthy of the shingles could be an adequate job.
