Dealer Bill Of Sale

Posted on June 4, 2010.
Dealer Bill Of SaleDealer gave me bill of sale, said the track will be allowed after check?

Later, after signing everything he said, he got the same car at auction and he had no title. What can I do now? Does it give me the title when he succeed? Can I go to the police / DMV and report it? Then dealer sell car without title?

Relax, Dealers will carry the title until the check clears. It helps protect against bad checks. He is allowed some time dealers do not get the title of the auction when the purchase of the car. I'm sure he will get it. Give him 30 days, but keep your sales invoice and receipt in case. If 30 days pass and you do not have the title. Then go to the DMV and file for a lost title. They will research the vehicle and call the dealer. If all is ok then they issue the title. If there is a problem, they will inform you and you must contact the local lawyer, etc. States General

Overall though it is true as a dealer not a front yard that I would not even worry about it.

I work for a car dealership. We hold all securities until the check by the bank. If you were given the title at the time of purchase, which prevents you to cancel the check? Once the check clears, so you get the title ... the sale is proof that you purchased the vehicle ... it's yours

Wait (not more than 30 days) Yes, no reason, yes ..

If they do not follow their end, you get your money and this is not how the dealers make money ...

Assuming you bought the car from a licensed dealer (and not just a broker, who sells cars from his front yard) I would not worry. You have possession of the vehicle, and you have a bill of sale.

A dealer must protect themselves against bad checks. Sadly, there are many crooks out there, and the idiots who "can not be found, I still have checks left. '

If I ran a lot of detail, I would always wait until I was sure that the check had cleared before I released the title! I only had two customers who are dissatisfied with this, we went and got cash from the bank, instead of giving me a personal check! The other tried to badger and threaten me, telling me that if I did not give him the title when he paid for the car, he was not going to buy it. I thanked him for coming, and told him I was sorry we could not do business.

If I give a purchaser of a title, and the check is returned unpaid, I can not have taken the car. If I have the title in hand, I can!

Dealers often buy cars from auctions and must wait several days to get the titles. Some dealers sell cars "as absent" auctions, which means they are not physically with them as to the auction. For example, a small auction I attend regularly, several major brokers in the region are sending cars to sell. Rather than having an employee of the dealership to attend the auction, they have cars represented by staff of the auction. If a car is sold, they provide the title of auction the next afternoon. If the car does not sell, they send it to a larger auction, run by the same company the next.

Some dealers taking their titles next week, some people have posted and some Bank projects use to pay for the car, where the auction is the title in the draft and sends it to the bank dealers. The bank pays the draft on the account dealers and gives the dealer the title.

If I knew the title was available, but simply did not have it in my hands, I would like to sell a car. For example, I bought a car (title missing) at an auction Tuesday. On Friday, the auction calls to tell me that the dealer handed the title to them. They can send it to me, or keep it until I go to the auction to pick it up in person. I ask them to keep it, because I plan to return for the sale Tuesday of next week. On Saturday, a customer comes in and.
